Twilight images

I'm pretty proud
I heard a rumour the other day.

"There is going to be a 5th Maximum Ride Book!"

I was like. Whoa.

So I decided to do some research!
And there is a lot of confusion on the Internet about the 5th book.
But the result is that I think there will be another book. It was on the author James Pattersons website (http://www.jamespatterson.com/) and I am excited. Nothing is confirmed yet, but it is rumoured that he released some information on his website about book number 5 that he wasn't supposed to.

THIS IS JUST A RUMOUR PEOPLE, nothing for sure yet.
But.
In the last book he left the two main characters (Fang and Max) relationship in question, I was still really confused about how they much they liked each other etc. (trying not to give too much away here) so hopefully if there is another book it will definitely help to clear up Max's clear commitment issues!

Hear that James Patterson, write another one dammit!

I'm sorry I love this picture but how bad is Jasper's wig!! I mean seriously it looks like it's about to fly off!!! Edward looks gorgeous of course but Emmet looks kinda creepy!!!

Second Hand Book Shops

I have one thing to say.

Second
Hand
Bookshops

Now I know its not everyones idea of a shopping trip, but honestly it is totally worth it.
This afternoon, against my brothers better judgement, I hoped off my bus a stop early and went to this little book shop round the corner from my house. I mean, no offence, but its nothing special. Its got your typical trashy 50 cent A-Pirate-Kidnapped-the-Heroine-and-they-fall-in-love stories and your 'fantastic' high fantasy' novels (that's great, but I'm really not into those kinds of books)
Anyway, a little off track but, honestly I looked through the shelves for a few minutes and couldn't find anything worth buys.
SO as a last minute thing, I had a look through the 'specials' rack.
And I found two copies of 'The Da Vinci Dode' and another book by the same author called 'Deception Point'...

Both for $1

Know I don't know about you.. But that's a great bargain.
Not that I'm a scab or anything, but these books are in pretty good condition as well.
The point to this blog you may ask?

Well get out there and have a look around! Instead of paying.. what $50 for two books you can pay only $2, maths isn't my strong point, but you don't need maths to know that is a significant saving!

So get browsing/shopping/reading!

Anyone Read Maximum Ride?

No, I didn't think so.
But you should. Its the best adventure thing ever and its even got fight scenes for the guys and a touch of romance (in the later books) for the girls.

Six kids, who have wings.

Need I say anymore?
Read them. You won't regret it.

Links if your interested.

http://www.maximumride.com/
http://www.maximumride.co.uk/
http://www.maximumride.blogspot.com/ <- The 'characters' *cough James-Patterson-the-author cough* have even started their own 'blog' (from the book) and are always posting and sometimes answering questions. Oh and a random fact.

The people who made 'Spiderman', 'X-men' and 'Superman' are producing the 'Maximum Ride' film which will be released in 2010 or 2011, I know its a long wait. I will be biting my nails until it is released. Okay, enough posting for tonight, my fingers feel as if they are going to fall off from all this typing.

Pride and Prejudice- Classics

At the moment I have been having a weird time with the classics. Some people hate them, some people love them and others couldn't really care.
Jane Austen and Charles Dickens are prime examples of this. Jane Austen was determined to give all her 'good guy/girl' characters happy romantic endings (after her own sad lost love, as portrayed in a movie dedicated to her life 'Becoming Jane'). She is also determined to give all her 'bad' characters horrible or imperfect endings. Unlike Charles Dickens who often ends his stories with tears and heart break.

Well, recently I have been exploring the second hand book shops around my area and have found that they sell plenty of Jane Austen books, so I have been reading them and I am officially hooked.

Although I find they are often hard to read, they are a wonderfully thought provoking blend of writing and story telling. Due to my, sad obsession, I think it is time I 'enlightened' everyone to the all time classics.

Pride and Prejudice- Jane Austen

This is a all time classic. With head strong Elizabeth leading the way. The story takes a lot of setting up and many people will give up entirely after the first chapter. Though it is very rewarding if you do stick with it. It makes you almost with you could teleport back to Jane Austen era and fall in love with your own Mr. Darcy.

Plot (With Much thanks to Wikipedia :/ )

Mr and Mrs Bennet's five daughters are all unmarried, and when a rich,
amiable young man moves into the neighbourhood, Mrs Bennet hopes to secure him
as a husband for her beautiful, eldest daughter. The growing relationship,
however, is sabotaged by the young man's haughty friend, who regards the match
as unsuitable. When the friend in turn falls in love with the second Bennet
daughter, his condescending offer is rejected with scorn and the connection
seems over. However, events conspire to bring the various parties together
despite the obstacles and misunderstandings that separate them. Pride on one
side and prejudice on the other are slowly overcome and the characters come to a
better knowledge of themselves and each other.

It has been adapted into many films and the concept has even bee used in modern day romantic comedies, such as 'Bride and Prejudice'.

I read this book while I read other books, other wise it does seem to drag on and on and on and on.

Twilight Trailer

Well, I'm pretty excited about the new Twilight movie (Decemebr 12th) and even more excited about 'Breaking Dawn which is coming out August 2nd. I think that I am obsessed in a slighly unheathy way.

Here is the offical teaser trailer. (Its on our little video bar thing on the right, but posting it here made it look cool)

Oh and Please remember, this is just the teaser trailer not the actual trailer, fingers crossed that they will release the actual one soon.

High School Never Ends

I've recently gotten into high-school dramas and comedies- the Georgia Nicholson series for example -Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison and others like Girl, 15 Charming but Insane by Sue Limb and Don't Call Me Ishmael by Michael Gerard Bauer.

There are others- more drama and conflict centred such as Destroying Avalon by Kate McCaffery (she's also published lots of books on teenage drama such as In Ecstacy, which Bc has read recently) and Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.

Hope this helps all you searching for books in the adolecent genre.

Bullying

It's the Koobs again just talking about bullying, I think most people should read Destroying Avalon by Kate McCaffery. It's a really good book that helps people understand what people are going through when they are being Cyber-bullied, some adults don't understand how serious it can be, how it changes all aspects of your life, thats why we recommend it.
A good book for those who like all high-school dramas and such- a thoughtful read for other teenagers who can somewhat relate to Avalon's situation.

Harry Potter Ending

Does Anyone Else Think That The Ending Of Harry Potter Was Terrible, I Mean Deathly Hallows Was Great, But The Nineteen Years Later Bit Ruined It. IT WAS WAY TOO CLICHE. J.k What Happened? Does Anyone Else Think The Fact They're Splitting The Last Movie Into 2 Is Stupid.
